EU Not Too Happy with the Google Book Settlement

From Bloomberg:

“What Google is doing, i.e. scanning of books without authorization of the right holders whilst giving them the opportunity to opt-out is without doubt a violation of European copyright laws,” said Stijn Debaene, a copyright specialist with law firm Allen & Overy LLP in Brussels. There’s “no doubt” that the hearing will lead to that conclusion, he said.
